SECTION II: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
II.1) DESCRIPTION

II.1.4) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Tenders are
invited from suitably experienced and established companies for the
provision of support for two Learning Disability Community Living Schemes
in South Denbigshire and a Pilot Countywide Telecare Response Service.
The first scheme is currently occupied by 2 individuals, however the
property can accomodate up to 5 people. The property used to be a
residential home until it was recently de-registered. One of the main
challenges for the successful provider will be to establish the ethos of a
community living scheme within a setting that is still strongly based on
institutionalised patterns of daily living.
The second scheme is occupied by two individuals who have shared the
property for several years.
Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 1981 may
apply to these schemes.
The telecare Response Service is a pilot which will initially cover
Learning Disability Community Living Schemes in the South of the County
however the intention is that in time it will be extended to cover schemes
in the whole of Denbighshire.
The expectation is that there will be one successful provider for all 3
lots; however tenders will be accepted for each lot individually or in any
combination.
Providers must be registered with the Care and Social Services
Inspectorate Wales (or equivalent), and should be signed, or be willing to
sign up to the Denbighshire Framework for providing Domiciliary Care.
A Scheme Brief offering guidance will be included in the tender pack which
can be obtained from Alison Heaton, Contracts Officer at Denbighshire
County Council, Social Services and Housing, Ty Nant, Nant Hall Road,
Prestatyn, Denbighshire, LL19 9LG.
The packs should be returned to Alison Heaton as above no later that 12:00
(noon) on Monday 14th April 2008.
