Expressions of Interest

This request for expressions of interest follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in Development Business No. 723 of 31 March 2008 and posted online on 13 March 2008.

The Republic of Azerbaijan has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for --

Environmental Impact Assessment for Hovsan Wastewater Treatment Plant Sea Outfall Construction

The services include the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for Sea Outfall construction of Baku major wastewater treatment facilities (Hovsan Wastewater Treatment Plant) following the World Bank regulations. The EIA is to be prepared for the planning, design, and construction of a sea outfall to discharge treated domestic wastewater from the greater Baku metropolitan area. The outfall’s location, structural integrity, and performance should be protective of marine life, human health and aesthetic amenity.

The “Azersu” Joint Stock Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications. The assignment is expected to start in October 2008 and to end in May 2009

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the QCBS procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004. Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below from 0900 to 1700 hours Baku time.

Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by cob August 14, 2008.
