Automated Production Systems with Production Switcher

CBC/Radio-Canada is inviting Proposals from industry in reply to its Request for Proposals for Automated Production Systems and Production Switcher (“RFP”).

This RFP invites companies to submit proposals for the following:

Provision of two automated production systems including a sixteen (16) input, two (2) mix effects video production switcher for live production of regional news in Sherbrooke and Trois-Rivieres and an option for a third system in Saguenay. These automated production systems will be driven by iNEWS newsroom computer system and will have to control the production switcher included in this RFP and third party equipments including an audio console, a camera robotic system, a character generator, a video server and a digital audio server.
CBC/Radio-Canada reserves the right to acquire additional systems from the successful proponent for other CBC/Radio-Canada locations if needed.

This RFP is opened only to suppliers who meet the following mandatory requirements:

1. The Manufacturer must be in business at least for the last two (2) years, providing Automated Production Systems and Production Switcher to the North American Market (recognized Broadcasters).
2. The Proponent (Manufacturer or Reseller) must be a North American company, with a legal workplace in Canada
3. The Proponent’s (or parent company) Annual Revenue must be at least 3,500,000 CAN$.

In order to receive a copy of the RFP documents, you are required to, no later than Wednesday, July 30th, 2008, 2h00pm Eastern Daylight Time, provide written evidence that your company meets the mandatory requirements, namely:

1. two (2) most recent financial statements audited by a chartered accountant or annual reports, or a letter signed by a chartered accountant indicating your company's annual revenues for the last two (2) completed years (2006-2007);
2. A letter signed by a duly authorized representative of the Manufacturer stating that the Manufacturer and the Reseller company have a formal business relationship, selling broadcast equipment for at least the last two years.
3. Two references of North American broadcasters to whom you (the Manfacturer or the Reseller) have provided similar Automated Production Systems and Production Switcher to that as proposed in reply to this RFP. For each reference, the Proponent must include: name of contact, title of contact, phone number and email address.

In addition, you will be required to sign a Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement (“NDA”). Following receipt of the signed NDA and a positive assessment of your company’s submissions, you will be provided with an electronic copy of the complete RFP, as of August 7, 2008.

Any contact with CBC/Radio-Canada at this stage of the RFP process must be undertaken by email only, through the CBC/Radio-Canada representative whose coordinates appear below. All email titles pertaining to this RFP must include the RFP number (RFP # SR 596-20080721).

Responses to the RFP are due no later than Thursday, August 28th, 2008, 2h00pm Eastern Daylight Time.
