The purpose of this synopsis is to publicize the forthcoming acquisition to provide personnel, equipment, and all necessary materials for Washer and Dryer Lease, Maintenance, and Repair services for approximately 334 Washers, 317 Electric Dryers, and 22 Gas Dryers at Fort Polk, LA in accordance with the Statement of Work.. Contractor will be responsible for the delivery, installation, cleaning, maintenance, repair, removal, and relocation of contractor furnished washers and dryers.

Contractor shall install new, non-government owned/contractor supplied washers and dryers and, during the course of the contract, provide any and all required maintenance, repairs and/or replacement, and diagnostic service calls for all the washers and dryers. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment and materials necessary to install and maintain the new washers and dryers at the locations scheduled in the statement of work that will be included in the solicitation as well as remove and dispose of the new washer and dryers crating and/or packaging materials to an off post location.

This acquisition is 100% set aside for small business concerns. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 532210. The size standard is $6.5 million.

The projected basic performance period is 1 October 2008 through 30 September 2009, plus two one-year option periods. The projected phase-in period is 15 August 2008 through 30 September 2008. Phase in will include the placement of machines as listed in the Statement of Work that will be provided with the solicitation.

The solicitation will be released on or about 23 July 2008. It is expected that the Government will award only one firm fixed priced contract in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS).

Contractors are solely responsible for monitoring the Internet to download the solicitation and any subsequent amendments. The solicitation and subsequent amendments will be publicized through the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI), https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/ and the Fort Polk Directorate of Contracting Website http://www.jrtc-polk.army.mil/doc/
