| Description | The project will involve the deconstruction and disposal of a number of purpose built structures previously used for special forces training. The training facility compound consists of three main structures, which are essentially brick, concrete block and steel clad building shells built around structural steel frames. Between these structures is an area of hard standing which will require removal. Certain materials will be retained by Defence for future use and will therefore require careful deconstruction. The majority of materials will require proper disposal off-site by the contractor. The project will include disposal of some lead / heavy metal contaminated waste in one of the buildings. |
| Conditions for Participation | The National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry and the Australian Government Implementation Guidelines for the National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry, reissued June 2006, apply to this project. |
| Timeframe for Delivery | The project's timeframe is anticipated to be Contract Award in mid September 2008 with project completion 12 weeks from Contract Award date. |
