The Naval Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst intends to solicit and negotiate a Firm Fixed Price order with Olympus Industrial America for 37 Fiberscopes and 14 IPLEX Borescope Defect Measurement Units, P/Ns IF4D5-15 and IPLEXSX, respectively, to support the V-22. The Government intends to procure this equipment under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Section 6.302-1. Olympus Industrial America is considered the only supplier to furnish the equipment within the time frame required as their unit has been previously tested and validated for use on the V-22. However, the Government will consider all responses received within 15 days after the publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
