Current and Future Tissue Banking Practices in Ontario

HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN in right of Ontario as represented by the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care (the “Ministry”) is issuing this RFI as a method of gathering information for a possible future RFP to be issued.

The Ministry is currently developing recommendations for a Tissue Strategy for Ontario. Part of the strategy will include proposals from the Tissue Plan, including a comprehensive centre. As a continuation of the consultation and analysis process conducted by TGLN in 2005-2006, the Ministry would like to collect further detailed information and expert input to inform a decision on whether or not, and if so, how to move forward with an RFP for a central comprehensive tissue processing and distribution centre. In particular, the Ministry wants to explore the current interest and capacity of expert organizations in participating in the creation and operation of a consolidated allograft processing and distribution centre for Ontario. The information and input provided will also inform the development of a comprehensive Tissue Strategy for Ontario.

Because there is no Voluntary Respondents meeting, Respondents that want to obtain further information about the RFI and its process must submit their questions to the RFI Coordinator.
