NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from MTS Systems Corporation on a sole sourcebasis.MTS Systems Corporation is the manufacturer of the Aero-90 and FlexTest family of loadcontrol systems. All of the associated hardware and software are proprietary, and aretherefore supported only by MTS Systems Corporation.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to Judith Drabkin at Judith.R.Drabkin@nasa.gov; FAX: 256-544-4401 nolater than 4:30 p.m. local time on Friday, July 18, 2008. Suchcapabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determiningwhether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination bythe Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis,based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
