The Government intends to enter into a sole source contract in accordance with FAR PART 6.303-2 for a follow-on contract for the development of a prototype high-throughput cargo inspection system, referred to as the Eagle Portal with Rapiscan Systems, Inc, (RSI) on behalf of The Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO). The sole source action is a follow-on to the initial SPAWAR contract number N66001-05-D-00620. The follow-on contract will provide finalized development, integration, and testing of the Eagle Portal to bring the system to the state of deployment and installation of the system at the U.S. Port for a period of six-months. RSI will also provide training operators, service, and spare parts as needed. This announcement is for informational purposes only and interested parties may respond; however, the Government will not evaluate proposals other than RSI�s. The anticipated date of issuance of the RFP is 14 July 2008.
