This is an unrestricted procurement. The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials and equipment, and constructing Item 424-R, Levee Enlargement and Berms, in Madison Parish, Louisiana. Principal features of the work include, mobilization and demobilization, clearing and grubbing, semicompacted levee embankment, uncompacted berm embankment, ramps, removing and replacing existing gravel surfacing, new crushed stone surfacing, mowing, turfing, erosion control matting, cattle guards, two water control structures, closure dike and overflow weir, corrugated metal pipe, erosion control, storm water pollution prevention and environmental protection. The value of the proposed work is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. Plans and specifications will be available on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) Web Page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Bidders may register on the Interested Vendors List (IVL) at http://www.fbo.gov/ and retrieve an IVL from the same location. Compact disc and hardcopies will not be available. Bidders should check often for changes (AMENDMENTS). Issue date on or about July 7, 2008. Bid opening date on or about August 7, 2008. Rights-of-Way to proceed with construction are not available; therefore, bids will not be opened and contract award will not be made until all necessary rights-of-way are available.
