SPECIFIC NOTES FOR COMPLETION OF QUOTATION

The following Item numbers correspond to line items in the Request for Quotation.

PRE-APPROVED BIDDER
For the supply of Signal Heads, only suppliers who have been pre-approved through Expression of Interest No. 1205-03-0267 are eligible to submit a bid.

For the supply of LED Signal Lamp Modules, only those modules which have been pre-approved through Expression of Interest No. 1201-07-5122 are eligible to be submitted.

STAINLESS STEEL REINFORCING PLATES
As part of the pre-approval process, all approved suppliers were requested and provided details on the quantity and location of steel reinforcing plates required within each signal head as recommended by the manufacturer for the mounting arrangement specified. These plates are to be provided and installed in each head as per the documentation submitted by the supplier.

LED MODULES
Only the following LED Modules approved by Expression of Interest No. 1201-07-5122 are eligible for use. Bids proposing use of LED Modules not approved will be disqualified. Contractor shall indicate in the space provided for each LED Module item in the bid sheet the Manufacture and Model number. List of approved LED Modules are as follows:

• 300mm Green Arrow, 200 mm Red and 200 mm Green Arrow, where required, will be supplied by City of Toronto.

• All LED modules are to be as per TS 808.220 LED Traffic Signal Lamp Modules.

PACKAGING
All materials shall be shipped suitably packaged to avoid damage and to ensure that all parts are delivered as an entity.

Vehicle signal heads shall be shipped without visors attached. Vehicle signal heads are to be shipped with reinforcing plates installed. Bird plugs and bird plug washers may be packaged separately in cardboard cartons. Visors and backboards are to be packaged separately. Backboard screws may be packaged separately.

All packaging is to be marked to clearly indicate contents. Packaging containing plumizer mounted vehicle signal heads are to be clearly marked.

LED LABELLING REQUIREMENTS
Each module shall be permanently labelled by the manufacturer with the following information on the backside;
• Manufacturer
• Type of Indication (red ball, green arrow, etc.)
• Size (diameter of module) in mm
• Model Number
• Nominal operating voltage
• Wattage (Typical) in watts
• Current Flow @ 25°C in mA
• Batch number
• Date of manufacture
• Warranty Period – 72 months from date of manufacture or date of order whichever is more recent
• Serial number
• Made in “insert country of origin”
• Meets “insert applicable ITE specification” (if applicable)

The following information shall be included on the manufacturer’s label or a supplementary permanent label installed by the Supplier

• TTS 808.220 March 2007

Modules shall have a prominent and permanent vertical indexing indicator, i.e., Up Arrow, or the word UP or TOP, for correct indexing and orientation in the signal housing.
