II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Suðurnesja hf
(HS) operates a geothermal power plant exploiting the Reykjanes geothermal
system. Installed power is at present 2 x 50 MW, Units 1 and 2. The power
plant is located on the Reykjanes peninsula, some 30km form Keflavik
International Airport. HS intends to increase the electrical production in
this plant by installing a third 50 MW turbine generator, Unit 3 and the
forth 30-50 MW turbine generator, Unit 4. The contract will include all
engineering and architectural consulting services necessary to complete
the project in cooperation with Hitaveita Sudurnesja own technical staff,
including project planning, detail design, tender documents and
construction supervision on site. Hitaveita Sudurnesja is seeking a joint
group of consultants with outstanding knowledge and experience in the
geothermal field, especially the Reykjanes Peninsula field. All documents,
drawings and communications will be in Icelandic.
