Government’s “World Class Skills – Implementing the Leitch Review of
Skills in England” is clear about the significant changes required to meet
the UK’s economic aspirations. As part of this, FE providers in England
will need to expand and improve their capacity to deliver to an employer
demand led market, offering training and support which will make a
significant difference to the employer’s business and to the skills of
employees. Building on the work undertaken in QIA’s Development Programme
for the LSC’s Train to Gain Service we are looking for a contractor(s) to
deliver a major comprehensive development programme to ensure that
providers can fully participate in delivering their part in World Class
Skills ensuring that those who are already excellent can improve their
capacity and achievements and that others can make the structural,
cultural and organisational changes required to be effective in this area
of work. This is a complex programme which will need to encompass a spread
of expertise and the full range of provider staff; it will be
developmental and will need to be sufficiently flexible to reflect
changing provider and stakeholder needs. The programme is likely to be
delivered by a number of contractors working to 1 lead contractor.
