Port of Palmeira Expansion and Modernization - Works Supervision
REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
The Port of Palmeira Expansion and Modernization Project is divided in two
phases. The objective of this procurement process is to select a
Consultant Firm for the works supervision relating to the implementation
of the first and second phases of the Port of Palmeira Expansion and
Modernization Project under two different Design-Build contracts, which
include the following components: Phase I - the construction of a new quay
protection and the extension of the existing quay by 120m, the provision
of a ro-ro ramp with a width of 20 m, the dredging of the approach channel
with an indicative water depth of 7.3m, the pavement of 3,5 ha of the port
area and the construction of a temporary passenger terminal. Phase II -
Construction a new berth located at north of the existing quay with 150m
length, 35m wide and 9.5m depth; paving of around 9 ha of yard and access
roads in the port area; building of passenger and administrative
buildings, warehouse and workshop.
The Consultant Firm shall provide technical assistance to the Ministry and
complementing entities. This consultancy includes two components of
services. In one of the components Consultant shall assist the Ministry
and complementing entities (ENAPOR) in reviewing and evaluating
deliverables produced by Consultants in charge of Port Expansion and
Modernization studies and design, as well as, to assist the Ministry and
complementing entities in evaluating bids for construction contracts of
the Phase II of the expansion project. The other component the Consultant
shall provide Construction Supervision Services for Palmeira Port
Construction Works for Phase I and Phase II. The technical assistance is
estimated to be provided within 36 months of the start date.
The Ministry of Infra-structure, Transport and Sea invites eligible
consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services.
Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are
qualified to perform the services (general qualifications of the
consulting firm, specific experience in the field of the assignment,
availability of appropriate specialized staff for the assignment, etc.).
Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.
Interested consultants may obtain further information at the e-mail
addresses below during office hours 08:00 to 18:00 hours, from Monday to
Friday.
Expressions of interest must be delivered to the addresses below by
20/08/2008.
