Note: C) Privatization Of Waste Collection (Except Garbage) Part Of Colombo Central (District - 2b) - Collection, transportation and disposal of waste in Municipal District-2B, i.e. Kollupitiya (Polwatta), Slave Island, Wekanda, Hunupitiya, Suduwella, Maradana, Panchikawatte, Maligakanda, Maligawatte (West) & Maligawatte (East).

Colombo Municipal Council has decided to privatize collection, transportation and disposal of waste in the following Municipal Districts.
Sealed tenders in duplicate will be received by me for the following works, till 1000 hrs on 21st July 2008, from reputed private companies with remarkable experience in this type of works.
A) Privatization Of Waste Collection (Except Garbage) Borella (District - 03) Collection, trasportation and disposal of waste in Muncipal District - 03, i.e. Cinnamon Garden, Borella (North), Borella (South), Wanathamulla, Dematagoda, Kuppiyawatte (East) and Kuppiyawatte (West).
B) Privatization Of Waste Collection (Except Garbage) Colombo East (District - 04) Collection, transportation and disposal of waste in Municipal District-04, i.e. Narahenpita, Torrington, Kirula, Pamankada (East) and Kirillapone.
c) Privatization Of Waste Collection (Except Garbage) Part Of Colombo Central (District - 2b)
Collection, transportation and disposal of waste in Municipal District-2B, i.e. Kollupitiya (Polwatta), Slave Island, Wekanda, Hunupitiya, Suduwella, Maradana, Panchikawatte, Maligakanda, Maligawatte (West) & Maligawatte (East).
It is intended that the successful tenderers to carry out the following services. - i) Keep above area very clean, ii) Sweeping & brushing of all the roads in above areas, iii) Cleaning and removal of silt from roadside drains (except underground pipelines), iv) Brushing of pavements, road side edges, centre islands and roundabout edges, v) Removal of weeds, banners and decorations, vi) Removal of debris and tree cuttings, vii) Transportation of waste collected due to above activities to a disposal site operated by the contractor in covered vehicles.viii) Provision of at least 100 Nos. litter bins of acceptable quality.
2) It is anticipated that collection of waste due to above operations will be around 10 tons per day at each District.
3) Total period of contract is 12 months. - Tender forms could be collected from the Project Management Division of the Municipal Engineers' Department at Town Hall, Colombo 07, till 10.00 hrs on 18th July 2008 on payment of Rs. 2300/= (inclusive of VAT) in cash as non¬refundable tender form fee for each of the above work.
Sealed tenders in duplicate should be placed in the tender box of the Municipal Secretary's Department at or before 10.00 hrs. on 21st July 2008. Name of the tender should be clearly written on the top left-hand corner of the sealed envelope. Tenders will be closed at 10.00 hrs. on 21st July 2008 and will be opened immediately thereafter. A bid bond in the form of a bank guarantee acceptable to Colombo Municipal Council, to the value of Rs. 350,000/ = must be accompanied for each of the above work along with the tender. Tenderers are requested to be present at the tender opening time.
The Council reserves the right to accept or reject the lowest or any other offer without giving any reason whatsoever.
