The Gifford Pinchot National Forest is soliciting prospective contractors for a construction project to perform improvements to the Cowlitz Valley Ranger Station located in Randle, WA on US Highway 12 in Washington State.  The work includes framing in an existing porch to create a more protected foyer.  The foyer will have windows, siding and a cultural stone application on the lower exterior sides.  Some concrete work is needed consisting of a curb for the culture stone application as well as an approach for the soon to be installed toilet.  Also required is the installation and framing of a steel double door and hardware, two pocket doors and hardware, two custom windows, a security swing gate, a custom counter and cabinets, waines coat paneling and trim, carpeting, slate tile, and interior and exterior painting.  Electrical items include the installation of a controlled access system, duress alarm system, GFI outlets in floor and a new voice/data duplex outlet as well as the relocation of voice/data duplex outlets, inter-com system, hearing impaired voice/data duplex outlet and light switches.

Contract time is 30 days after the date of Notice to Proceed with an estimated start work date of November 01, 2008.  The NAICS code for this project is 236220 with a corresponding size standard of $31 million.  The Government Estimate for this project is between $100,000 and $250,000.  The estimated date of issuance for the solicitation is July 17, 2008 with offers due on August 15, 2008. A single contract will be awarded to the offeror presenting the best value to the Forest Service based upon; Price, experience; and past performance.  Prospective contractors and subcontractors are requested to self-register below to receive notification of any postings concerning this project.  The solicitation, and any amendments, will be made available at this Internet site.  All responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered by the Forest Service.
