The Republic of Kazakhstan has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Forest Protection and Reforestation Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services. The services include:

Component 1: “Evaluation of fire-prevention operating service (incident command system), network inventory of fire-fighting objects”;

Component 2: “Development of forest fire control information system using geoinformation systems”.

The Forest and Hunting Committee now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

It is necessary to provide the following information:

• CVs of specialists with higher education and vast experience in the field of forest fire control at forestry management institutions, experience in development and implementation of Fire Incident Command System.
• List of assignments completed equivalent to the component 1.
• Experience in successful implementation of the projects on information systems development in closely related fields.
• Experience in development of GIS-solutions for information systems.
• CVs of specialists on Geoinformation software products of leading world program developers, on development of software on programming languages.

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (May 2004).
