SECTION II: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
II.1) DESCRIPTION
II.1.1) Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority: A
new compact test range (CTR)/measurement capabilities at the Microwaves
and Radar Institute.

II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): A Compact Test
Rang (CTR) shall extend the measurement capabilities at the Microwaves and
Radar Institute. Main application of this CTR is antenna, RCS and radar
system characterization. Additionally, a chamber for direct measurements
in W-band shall be established. Both shielded anechoic chambers shall be
combined in one large measurement facility, sharing the same control room.
Some components of the chambers are already owned by the Institute and
shall be integrated. A new building that is currently under construction
will provide a dedicated space for the installation of the complete
measurement facility. This ITT is split-up into several positions or lots
but a general contractor is being preferred. Overview of lots/packages: 1.
Construction of the chambers: a. CTR shielded chamber, with a pit starting
inside the chamber and reaching outside by about 6 meters; b. W-band
chamber: shielded chamber, c. Control Room with hatches to both chambers,
no shielding required, including a shielded feed chamber to the CTR
chamber. 2. Absorber material: Absorbing material for both chambers
including necessary layout and pasting. 3. Air conditioning: Shared air
conditioning system for cooling and controlling relative humidity. 4. Rail
extension for the Orbit model tower, delivery and installation, including
maintenance and assembly of the existing model tower components and rails.
5. Reflector system assembly: a. Assembly and alignment of the existing
frames, reflectors and the feed system (sub and main reflector including
serrations). b. Test measurements: demonstrating the functionality of the
CTR (RCS and exemplary antenna measurement).

chamber, 24 x 11.7 x 9.7 meters (l x w x h), with a pit. Frequency range
of operation: 300 MHz – 100 GHz b. W-band shielded chamber, 8.5 x 5.2 x 5
meters (l x w x h). Frequency range: 70 – 110 GHz. c. Control room with
hatches, ≈ 10 x 6 x 3 meters (l x w x h), no shielding required, including
a shielded feed chamber to CTR.

chamber: frequency range 70 – 110 GHz. Total area: 226 m².

1) SHORT DESCRIPTION: 3. Air conditioning, shared system for cooling and
