SECTION II: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
II.1) DESCRIPTION
II.1.1) Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority:
Refurbishment works to UK Terminal platforms and associated upgrades.
II.1.2) Type of contract and location of works, place of delivery or of
performance: Works.
Realisation, by whatever means of work, corresponding to the requirements
specified by the contracting authorities.
Main site or location of works: UK Terminal, Folkestone, Kent.

II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): To provide
civil engineering services for the repair and protection of concrete
jacking beams. To conduct civil engineering works for the repair or
replacement of coping stones to platforms. To conduct civils works for
platform surface reconstruction. To carry out construction of
troubleshooter access points, providing maintenance personnel with access
to the underside of shuttle trains adjacent to platforms. Optional works
to install heated ramps for access and egress to platforms. The works are
to be carried out on the platforms of the UK Terminal, where HGV's, cars
and coaches are loaded onto rail shuttles for transportation through the
Channel Tunnel.

II.2) QUANTITY OR SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT
II.2.1) Total quantity or scope: Division into lots. Any or all lots may
be tendered for.
II.2.2) Options: Yes.
Description of these options: Lot 1: Jacking beam protection to be
provided by the application of steel plates. Lot 2: Removal, repair and
replacement of coping stones to platforms. Supply of labour, materials and
equipment as required to complete the works. Lot 3: Platform surfaces to
be treated. There are 3 options proposed, involving the replacement of
block paving option 1, application of asphalt to replace existing block
paving option 2 or the laying of a replacement concrete pavement option 3.
To include all labour, materials and equipment necessary to complete the
works. The chosen solution may involve a combination of the above options.
Lot 4: The construction of troubleshooter access routes between platforms
and adjacent running tracks on the UK terminal, to provide access for
maintenance personnel below stationary shuttle trains. The supply of
labour, materials and equipment necessary to complete the works. Lot 5
(optional): This is a design and build option for the provision of winter
heating to the surfaces of some access and egress ramps for platforms on
the UK terminal. Appropriate reinstatement and surface treatment for
ramps, including the supply of all labour, materials and equipment
necessary to complete the works.

INFORMATION ABOUT LOTS
LOT NO 1
TITLE: Jacking Beam Protection.
1) SHORT DESCRIPTION: The supply and fixing of steel plates to the top of
concrete ground beams (Jacking Beams), in order to protect against damage
inflicted by props on the shuttle loading wagons.
2) COMMON PROCUREMENT VOCABULARY (CPV): 50225000 - E107.
LOT NO 2
TITLE: Coping Stones
1) SHORT DESCRIPTION: Removal, repair and replacement of pre-cast
concrete coping stones along platform edges within loading & unloading
zones. The supply of labour, materials and equipment as required to
complete the necessary works.
2) COMMON PROCUREMENT VOCABULARY (CPV): 45234000 - E043.
LOT NO 3
TITLE: Platform Surfaces to be Treated.
1) SHORT DESCRIPTION: Platform surfaces to be treated. There are 3
options proposed, involving the replacement of block paving option 1,
application of asphalt to replace existing block paving option 2 or the
laying of a replacement concrete pavement option 3. To include all labour,
materials and equipment necessary to complete the works. The chosen
solution may involve a combination of these options.
2) COMMON PROCUREMENT VOCABULARY (CPV): 45234000 - E043.
LOT NO 4
TITLE: Troubleshooter Access.
1) SHORT DESCRIPTION: The construction or modification of troubleshooter
access routes between platforms and adjacent running tracks on the UK
terminal, this is in order to allow maintenance personnel to access the
underside of the shuttle wagons. The supply of labour, materials and
equipment necessary to complete the works.
2) COMMON PROCUREMENT VOCABULARY (CPV): 45234000 - E043.
LOT NO 5
TITLE: Heated Ramps.
1) SHORT DESCRIPTION: This is a design and build option for the provision
of heating to specified platform ramp surfaces for use in cold weather
conditions. Appropriate reinstatement and surface treatment for ramps,
including the supply of all labour, materials and equipment necessary to
complete the works.
2) COMMON PROCUREMENT VOCABULARY (CPV): 45221121.
SECTION III: LEGAL, ECONOMIC, FINANCIAL AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION
III.1) CONDITIONS RELATING TO THE CONTRACT
III.1.1) Deposits and guarantees required: As stated in tender documents.

reference to the relevant provisions regulating them: As stated in tender

statement of the undertaking’s overall turnover and its turnover in
respect of the services to which the proposed contract relates for the
previous 3 financial years.

evaluating if requirements are met: Company organisation chart; A
certified list of the principle services provided in the last 3 years
including the value, dates and recipients, public or private, of the
services provided; An indication of the technical personnel or the
technical bodies involved, whether or not belonging to the service
provider, especially those responsible for quality control. A statement of
the service provider’s average annual manpower and the number of
managerial staff for the past 3 years; A statement of the tool, plant or
technical equipment available to the service provider for carrying out
services; A description of the service provider’s measures for ensuring
quality and his study and research facilities; A relevant statement
relating to the service providers health, safety and environmental
policy(ies) and copies of any relevant certification; Accident statistics
