Desc: NSN: 1240-01-063-1347, P/N: SM-D-805050. The item to procure is a Window, Optical Instrument, for the M1 Abrams. Material; Germanium polished periphery provided. Width: 4.725 inches nominal; Length: 6.00 inches nominal. Thickness: 0.250 inches nominal. Special features: Material used in the manufacture of this optical part shall not contain thorium, other radioactive material or any combination of nuclear materials in excess of 0.05 percent per weight as defined by the Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations Part 40. The infrared antireflective coating is excluded from this restriction and contains thorium approximately .0011 grams per square centimeter of coated surface. Thorium in the antireflective coating should not exceed this amount. FOB destination. This item is for use on the M1 Series Tank.
