II.1.4) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The purpose of
the contract is the acquisition of services for the infrastructure
management, user support and project management for the needs of the
Delegations of the Directorate-General for External Relations. Its
objective is to implement an 'intra muros' team of IT specialists in order
to offer a high quality second and third level support helpdesk to the IT
officers located in the Delegations. In some cases, where no IT officer is
present in a Delegation, first level support will also be provided. The
team will also monitor the infrastructure composed of hundreds of servers,
thousands of PCs and a complex network (local and WAN); in some cases, it
will also do remote management of some of this equipment.
