SECTION II: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
II.1) DESCRIPTION
II.1.1) Title attributed to the contract by the contracting authority:
Provision of a Service & Repair Service for Stair Lifts and Through Floor
Vertical Lifts.

II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): This is a
readvertisement of the contract that was originally advertised on 27.5.08.
The Joint Equipment Loans Service (JELS) provides equipment to clients who
live in the county of Northumberland or who are registered with a
Northumberland GP in order to help them maintain their independence in the
community by continuing to live in their own homes.
JELS requires a contractor to undertake servicing and inspection duties on
Stair Lifts and Through Floor Lifts in accordance with the Lifting
Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER).
An emergency call out service will be required.
An un-installation and re-installation service for palliative stair lifts
will be required.

II.2) QUANTITY OR SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT
II.2.1) Total quantity or scope: The contract will cover all the Stair
Lifts owned by Northumberland Care Trust and those Stair Lifts and Through
Floor Lifts that are administered by Northumberland Care Trust on behalf
of Northumberland County Council.
The location of the equipment is generally within the boundaries of the
County of Northumberland.
The new unitary authority for Northumberland may participate in the
contract at a future date.
The contract will initially be let for 24 months with the potential to
extend for a further period of 12 months.
II.2.2) Options: No.
II.3) DURATION OF THE CONTRACT OR TIME-LIMIT FOR COMPLETION: Duration in
months: 36 (from the award of the contract).
