II.1.4) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The servicing
and repair of Fire Alarm Equipment in Bristol City Council properties
which range from public buildings, offices, Adult Community Care Services,
Children and Young Persons Services buildings, civic amenities,
crematoria, leisure facilities, multi-storey flats and sheltered
accommodation, including communal areas and laundries, low rise flats and
other buildings as specified. The successful contractor must have at least
5 years proven experience of work of a similar type and nature and the
ability to attend to emergency breakdowns on site within specified times
ranging from 1 hour, 3 hours, 24 hours and 48 hours, dependent on the
nature and location of the fault. It is possible that during the lifetime
of this contract the arrangement may be extended to other departments of
the Council, including educational properties (self funding), other public
bodies and Registered Social Landlords within Bristol and surrounding
area. The duties will include the maintenance and repair of various fire
alarm systems and associated equipment including Digital and Redcare
Communication devices. The Contract will be subject to a possible
extension of up to a further 24 months by mutual agreement. Miscellaneous
