The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme, CA plans to procure as other than full and open competition from Oto Melara North America, Washington, DC 20006, Ten (10) MK 75 Gun System Breechblocks and Two (2) Gun Port Shields, in support of the USN and Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Oto Melara is the sole owner of the proprietary data rights and manufacturing drawings to MK 75 Gun System breechblocks and Gun Port Shields. Oto Melara is the only source from which the USN has purchased these items due to the criticality, complexity and required strict geometric tolerancing and dimensioning of these two items and to be assured of safe operation on USN and RAN MK 75 Gun Systems. The only source to provide these items in a timely manner is the OEM due to the fact there is no other source licensed by Oto Melara to manufacture them.
