CONSULTANCY ASSIGNMENT FOR DESIGN OF SELECTED SECTOR STRATEGIES AND UPGRADING/INTEGRATION OF PRODUCT VALUE CHAINS

This request for expression of interest follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business No.674 of March 16 2006.

The Government of Ghana, with the support of the International Development Association (IDA) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), has developed the Ghana Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Project, which is being implemented under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Private Sector Development and PSIs (MOTIPSD/PSI).

It is the intention of MOTIPSD/PSI to apply part of the funds to undertake specific meso-level intervention under the Access to Markets and Trade Facilitation Component of the MSME Project which will involve selecting priority industrial sectors, including those with high export potential, and analyzing the opportunities and challenges in these sectors and how to address them through enhanced value chain integration. This is also expected to provide information for strengthening policy and improving project development and implementation, in key areas such as “District Industrialization”.

The Ministry intends to recruit a consulting firm with extensive expertise and experience in undertaking comprehensive analysis of industrial sectors, including product value chain analysis and development sector strategies.

MOTIPS/PSI now invites eligible firms to indicate their interests in providing the services. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (company profile, brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, experience with IDA funded projects, etc.)

A Firm will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004, revised October 2006.

Interested firms may obtain further information from the address below, during office hours, Monday- Friday from 9:00 hours – 16:30 hours GMT.
Expression of Interest must be delivered to the address below by 17.00 hrs, 12 July, 2008
