On behalf of the Ceylon Electricity Board, Chairman, Board Procurement Committee will receive sealed Bids for construction of tower foundations and erection of 16 Nos. Towers of 33kV D/C Lynx Tower Line from Polpithimukalana Grid Sub to Bollatha Gantry
Bids will be closed at 10.00 a.m. on 9th July 2008 (hereinafter called "Closing time")
Bids should be forwarded on the forms available with the Bid Documents. The
Bid Documents could be purchased at the office of the Deputy General Manager (Planning & Development), Region 2, Ceylon Electricity Board, No. 50, 1st Floor, Sir Chittampalam A Gardiner Mawatha, Colombo 02 between 09.00 hours and 15.00 hours on any working day till 4th July 2008 on payment of a non-refundable tender fee of Rs. 3000/= (Rupees Three Thousand), in cash or per set in the form of a Bank Draft drawn in favour of "General Manager, Ceylon Electricity Board".
All bidders shall be registered with the Institute for Construction Training and Development (ICTAD), under the grade and specialty given below - Specialty Grade - Building M6 or above
Sealed Bids may be dispatched either by registered post addressed to The Chairman, Board Procurement Committee, Ceylon Electricity Board, No. 50, 3rd Floor, Sir Chittampalam A Gardiner Mawatha, Colombo 02, or could be deposited in the tender box provided at the Office of the DGM (R.E. Pro & Procu.) Ceylon Electricity Board, No. 50, 7th Floor, Sir Chittampalam A Gardiner Mawatha, Colombo 02, to receive before closing time The words "Construction of tower foundations and erection of 16 Nos. Towers of 33kV D/C Lynx Tower Line from Polpithimukalana Grid Sub to Bollatha Gantry and Bid Number" should be written on the top left-hand corner of the envelope.
Bids must be accompanied by a security of Rupees 100,000/ =. Any bid not accompanied by a valid bid security will not be entertained.
Bids will be opened at the Auditorium in 7th Floor, Ceylon Electricity Board, No. 50, Sir Chittampalam A. Gardiner Mawatha, Colombo 2, immediately after the closing time and Bidders or their authorized representatives will be permitted to be present at the time of opening of Bids.
Bid document may be inspected free of charge at the Office of the Deputy General Manager (Planning & Development) Region 2 at the aforesaid address.
All clarifications should be sought at least one day before the closing time of Bids from Chief Engineer (Pro. & HM - Region 2), Ceylon Electricity Board, 21, Church Road, Gampaha, through Telephone No. 033-2231769.
