II.1.4) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Ordnance Survey
has a requirement for secure fulfilment services to support the Ordnance
Survey Leisure Map Shop. The Ordnance Survey Leisure Map Shop is a
telephone and Internet web-based service that complements the awarding
authority's other multiple sales channels. It enables customers to buy
maps and other products on-line or via the telephone for delivery by post
or carrier within defined timescales. It offers Ordnance Survey and third
party products in addition to providing hosting for a print-on-demand
service called OS Select, which uses Ordnance Survey equipment and
technology to provide site-centred mapping to consumers. There is a
requirement to ensure that all technology is integrated into the
fulfilment process and to monitor quality control of the product and
process. The product range may increase to include a larger variety of
third party products. Therefore the proposed fulfilment solution will need
to be flexible enough to fit with future developments in Ordnance Survey's
products and technologies.
