INVITATION TO APPLY FOR ELIGIBILITY AND TO BID

The DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND HIGHWAYS (DPWH) invites Manufacturers/ Suppliers/ Distributors/ classified by, and registered with the DEPARTMENT OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY (DTI) to apply for prequalification/ eligibility and, if subsequently found eligible, to bid for furnishing/ delivery of various road materials, as listed hereunder.

1.) 54 - pail Asphalt Sealant, 45 - kg./pail
81 - pail Instant Patchmix/Readymix Asphalt

2.) 188 - cu.m. Boulders
640 - cu.m. Portland Cement
55 - cu.m. Sand
15 - pc. Form Lumber, 2x2x10'
5 - kls. C.W. Nails, assorted sizes

3.) 58 - cu.m. Boulders
196 - bag Portland Cement
12 - cu.m. Sand
15 - pc. Form Lumber, 2x2x10'
4 - kls. C.W. Nails, assorted Sizes

Purpose : Item No. 1, For use in the Repair of various National Roads;
Item No. 2, For use in the repair of Flood Control at De la Paz - Pulot Aplaya Road Section;
Item No. 3, For use in the repair of Flood Control at Talahib Pandayan-Tibig Road Section,
Batangas City.

The approved budget for the Contract to be bid is P P607,500.00; P275,415.00; P83,250.00 for Item Nos. 1, 2 & 3, respectively.

Deadline for submission of Letter of Intent for Eligibility July 1, 2008.

The BAC will issue hard copies of LOI Forms at DPWH-Batangas Second DEO, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Php 500.00. Prospective bidders that will download or reproduce the LOI forms shall pay the same amount upon submission of their LOI's. Prospective bidders shall submit their accomplished LOIs and obtain the results of the eligibility check at the same address.

Issuance of Bid Documents to eligible Bidders, June 24 to July 1, 2008.

The prescribed Bid Documents maybe obtained from the BAC upon payment of a non-refundable fee of P 1,000.00; P500.00; and P500.00 for Item Nos. 1, 2, & 3, respectively.

Delivery time/ schedule is expected to commence by around _last week of July, 2008 and should be completed within ( 5 ) working days each for Item Nos. 1, 2, and 3.

Interested contractors shall submit their duly accomplished Prequalification/ Eligibility Statements including Price Proposals in the prescribed forms to the Chairman, Bids and Awards Committee (BAC), Batangas Second District Engineering Office, Kumintang Ilaya, Batangas City, not later than 1:30 p.m., July 14, 2008, and then publicly opened at 1:45-p.m., same date.

All particulars relative to Prequalification/ Eligibility, Bid Bond Performance Bond, Pre-Bid Conference, Bid Evaluation and Award of Contract shall be governed by the provisions of R.A.-9184, and its Implementing Rules and Regulations and other applicable rules and regulations.

The Batangas Second District Engineering Office reserves the right to accept or reject any Bid, and to annul the bidding process and reject all Bids at any time prior to contract award, without thereby incurring any liability to the affected bidder or Bidders.
