ACQUISITION OF PIPES AND CONNECTIONS FOR ALTO OESTE WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM - ICB 002/2008

The Federative Republic of Brazil has received a financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Federal Water Resources Management Project - PROÁGUA Nacional, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Contract for Acquisition of Pipes and Connections for the Alto Oeste Pipeline System. The Environment and Water Resources State Secretariat – SEMARH now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Acquisition of Pipes and Connections for the Alto Oeste Pipeline System, according the lots: Lot 1 Pipes and Connections – Pressure Class of 1.0 MPa; Lot 2 Pipes and Connections – Pressure Class of 1.6 to 2.5 MPa; Lot 3 Pipes and Connections – Pressure Class of 3.0 MPa and Lot 4 Stopcocks, Valves, Accessories and Hydro-mechanical Material.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Environment and Water Resources State Secretariat – SEMARH and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below from 09:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. A complete set of bidding documents in English and Portuguese may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of R$ 200,00 (two hundred reais) or in another freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be direct deposit payable to the Secretaria do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Hídricos do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte (SEMARH), agency 3795-8, account number 30.017-9, Banco do Brasil. The document will be sent by airmail for overseas delivery or surface mail or courier for local delivery.

Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 10:00 a.m. on August 14, 2008. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. They will be opened immediately thereafter, in the presence of bidders' representatives, who choose to attend, at the address below. Late bids will be rejected. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of:
