The Government of Grenada has received a loan from the International
Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the amount of USD 5,060,000
equivalent, and has received a credit from the International
Development Association in the amount of USD 5,000,000 equivalent
toward the cost of the Emergency Recovery and Disaster Management
Project, and it intends to apply the proceeds of this funding to
payments under the contract for Consultant - Shelters Phase 2.

The project will strengthen the ability to direct disaster management
agencies, and enhance their capacity to mitigate adversity, concerning
particular disasters such as floods, landslides, storm surges, and
hurricanes in Grenada.

Project Coordination Unit now invites eligible consultants to indicate
their interest in providing the following services:

- The provision of a foundation design for a proposed Regional
prototype shelter (Shelters)
- The upgrading of existing preliminary shelter designs and the
provision of suitable designs where there are none for
retrofitting seven (7) shelters to make them resistant to natural
hazards (Shelters)
- The provision of works supervision for both the retrofitting of
the seven (7) shelters and the construction of the proposed
Regional prototype shelter (Shelters)

Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they
are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of
similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of
appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to
enhance their qualifications. Consultants will be selected in
accordance with the procedures set out in the |World Bank| Selection
and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers[1].

to the address below by 16 October 2002.
