Description

The Australian Government Attorney-General's Department is seeking tenders for the provision of Port Management and Related Services for the Indian Ocean Territories (IOT) Ports.

The Indian Ocean Territories (IOT) Ports consist of the Christmas Island Port and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands Port The Australian Government owns all of the IOT Ports' on-shore assets, fixed and mobile, including plant and equipment.  In addition the Australian Government owns a number of off-shore assets and vessels including the existing inter-island ferry, dumb barge and mooring buoys. 

The Attorney General's Department is accountable to the Minister of Home Affairs for the IOT Ports. The project will involve the Management of the IOT Ports on Christmas and Cocos (Keeling) Islands, the provision of Harbour Master Services, Management and Maintenance of all Port Assets and the Provision of Advice to the Department on all matters relating to the operation of the Ports.

Other InstructionsThe National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry, in accordance with the Australian Government Implementation Guidelines for the National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry, revised September 2005, reissued June 2006, applies to this project. 

Conditions for ParticipationIt is a condition for participation in this RFT that each tenderer comply with the National Code of practice for the Construction Industry Code and Guidelines. 

It is a condition for participation in this RFT that as at the opening date for this RFT tenderers must not have been:

      (a)  precluded from tendering for Australian Government funded work; or
      (b)  specifically excluded from participation in this RFT.
