is developing a Regional Cultural Volunteering/Placement scheme with.
The aim of contributing to regional priorities on employability via the
provision of volunteering opportunities within the cultural sector. The
aim of the programme is to engage economically inactive individuals
through cultural and/or community activities and offer a progression
pathway which includes high quality, cultural volunteering opportunities,
and can ultimately lead towards sustainable employment or training. The
scheme looks to integrate with, or complement existing initiatives.
One NorthEast are tendering for a coordination unit for the duration of
the.
Programme (November 2007 – April 2010).
The Programme Coordination Unit must be able to deliver the following:
Provide central coordination function:
Report to and maintain relationships with programme funders:
Identify new opportunities for partnerships, funding and sponsorship and
manage income:
Administration, IT and Training:
Procure new or adapt existing system for recording programme activity and
outputs. Maintain system and ensure each pilot can access and use system
correctly.
Procure IT support and training
Act as a central point for data collection (project outputs) and reporting
/ disseminating information.
Procure, organise or deliver core (common to all pilot projects) training
to staff and volunteers.
Marketing and Communications:
Ensure that pilot projects have the opportunity to contribute to the
programme management, learn from each other, share good practice, share
opportunities.
Work with steering group, funders and pilot projects to agree a common
brand for the programme which works for each pilot project (e.g.
‘Passionate about Volunteering’ - a ‘light touch’ form of branding using
the Regional Image Campaign which will fit with existing branding used by
others).
Central coordination, ordering and purchasing of branded items
(newsletter, website, t-shirts, record cards, certificates, smart cards,
etc.)
Raise awareness of the programme amongst external partners and regional
referral agencies - including communication of the opportunities created
(e.g. central database of opportunities offered through the pilot
projects, programme newsletter / e-newsletter).
Organise events, conferences and meetings e.g. recognising volunteer
achievements, disseminating information.
Communicate programme achievements to partners and press.
Disseminate information and lessons learned.
