Involvement Network (LINk) is to be set up by the Tameside MBC on behalf
of the Department of Health/partners to involve local people in their
local services with a focus on social care and health. The Council is
seeking to appoint a Host organisation with the experience and skills in
community development, local networking, facilitation and working with
individuals from all sectors of the community and a wide range of provider
groups. The "Host" organisation will be responsible for the establishment,
diversity of membership and support of the ongoing day to day activities
of the LINk. The LINk will be responsible for carrying out the following
activities: - Promoting and supporting the involvement of people in the
commissioning, provision and scrutiny of local health and social care
services; - Obtaining the views of people about their needs for, and their
experience of local health and social care services; - Enabling people to
monitor and review the commissioning and provision of care services; and -
Making their views known to the people responsible for commissioning,
providing, managing and scrutinising those services. All in accordance
with the developing strategy of the Department of Health. Social research
