Invitation for Prequalification

The Government of Azerbaijan intends to apply part of the proceeds considered in the Loan Agreement signed with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development toward payments under the contract of “Construction of Section 3 of Alat – Astara Road”. “AzerRoadService” OJC invites contractors and/or firms for the Prequalification of the Project for Construction of Section 3 of Alat – Astara Road.

Project for “Construction of Section 3, 80.6 – 142.7 km of Alat – Astara Road consists of one contract:

This contract covers the consruction of 4 lane road with length of 62.1 km located between km 80 + 600 – km 142 + 700.

Approximate volume of reconstruction works:

• Construction of road pavement including granular subbase;

Subbase materials, asfhalt abse, asfhalt surface;

• Construction of bridges and culverts;

• Construction of new road overpasses and intersections;

İnvitation for Bids is expected to be held on November, 2008.

Prequalification will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, (current edition), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines.

A complete set of prequalification documents in English languages may be purchased and examined by interested bidders at local time from 09:00 to 17:00. A complete set of prequalification documents in English languages may be purchased by interested bidders starting from June 16, 2008 on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of 150 AZN (one hundred and fifty) or convertible currency in US$. The method of payment will be by bank transfer to:
