The People’s Republic of China has received the grant from the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) for implementation of Demonstration of Alternatives to Chlordane and Mirex in Termite Control Project. The activity of review and Revision of Policies, Regulations and Technical Standards of Termite Control in China is an important part of the project

The objective of this assignment is to review and necessarily revise the existing national policies, regulations and standard in termite control for facilitating elimination of chlordane and mirex and promoting IPM for termite control. The duration of the assignment is 14 months.

The consultant should be a consulting firm, institute, association or other organization with detailed understanding of termite control and proven experience in reviewing and drafting policies and regulations. Experience with similar assignments will have the priority

A consultant will be selected based on the Quality Based Selection (QBS) modality in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (current edition).

The Ministry of Environmental Protection of China (MEP), through its Convention Implementation Office (CIO) now invites eligible firm/institute to provide the interest in providing the service. The firm/institute with interests shall provide expression letter of interest and information concerning their qualifications to perform the services. Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below during office hours from 09:00 to 17:30.

Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by July. 11, 2008.
