SECTION II: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
II.1) DESCRIPTION

14506 Equipment and consumables for Nucleic Acid Amplification Test Kits.

II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The State
Trading Centre (Rikiskaup), which is the Centre for governmental purchase
of goods and services in Iceland, invites on behalf of Landspítali –
University Hospital (LSH), Department of Microbiology tenders for
Equipment and four (4) years supply of consumables for Nucleic Acid
Amplification Test Kits, Detection of Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria
gonorrhoeae in Clinical Specimens, spare parts and a service contract
further specified in the tender specifications. The tender specification
concern a four (4) years framework contract for "on demand" supply of
consumables with right to extent the contract of one year two times.
Commissioning of the contract for the system is foreseen in the 4th
quarter of the year 2008. The Purchaser is searching for the most
economically advantageous solution in this tender. The purpose of the
information provided in this invitation and the clinical and technical
specifications regarding the system and equipment tendered, is to give
prospective tenderers a clear and informative idea on what the Purchaser
is requesting and thus to increase the likelihood for a valid tender and a
successful contract for both Purchaser and supplier.

II.2) QUANTITY OR SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT
II.2.1) Total quantity or scope: Equipment and four (4) years supply of
consumables for Nucleic Acid Amplification Test Kits, Detection of
Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae in Clinical Specimens,
spare parts and a service contract to be performed in the Dept. of
Microbiology, at Landspitali – University Hospital at Ármúli 1a,
Reykjavík. The specified requirements for the requested material are
further specified in the tender specifications chapter 2. The equipment
and test kits tendered SHALL comprise the latest technology in the field
of detection of Chlamydia trachomatis (CT), Neisseria gonorrhoeae (NG).
The equipment SHALL be safe, ergonomic and flexible in operation, modular
in construction and upgradeable in both hardware and software. The test
kits SHALL be safe, ergonomic and flexible in use. The tendered prices
SHALL be total prices in Icelandic krónur (ISK) excl. VAT for the system
tendered. Price indexing is not allowed. Tenderers are encouraged to
propose more than one solution that meets the minimum requirements
described in these tender documents, preferably not more than three
proposals per tenderer. If tenderers propose more than one solution, the
proposals SHALL be separate and easily distinguishable and put forward on
separate tendersheets. A more detailed description and specification on
the systems can be found in chapters 2 in these requirements and
specifications. The purpose of the information provided in this invitation
to submit tender, is to give prospective tenderers a clear and informative
idea on what the Purchaser is asking for, regarding the system and thus
increase the likelihood for a successful contract for both Purchaser and
supplier. See further description in Tender documents. Tenders SHALL be
submitted for the entire project as described in the tender documents.
