Invitation for Bids

1. The Government of Yemen has received loan No.594-YE from the International fund for agricultural Development, IFAD toward the cost of Dhamar Participatory Rural Development Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for procurement of
Gabions Quantity of 7050 cu.M of Different Basket size and Filter Clothes
Quantity 18000 sq M. and accessories.

2. The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation represented by the Project Management Office of the Dhamar Participatory Rural Development Project now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for supply of Gabions Quantity 7050 cu.M of Different Basket size and Filter Clothes Quantity 18000 sq.M and accessories.

3. Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the IFAD's Guidelines: Procurement under IFAD Loans, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from The Project Management Office and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below during office hours.

5. A complete set of bidding documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee YR20,000 or in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be in cashiers check/or cash. Prospective Bidders can receive the Bidding Documents by courier upon payment of extra charges of US$ 50.

6. Bids must be delivered to the address below before 11.00 hrs 15th of July . 2008. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of not less than 2.5 % of the bid price valid for 120 days from bid opening date. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 11.00 a.m. on 15th of July 2008.
