SECTION II: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
II.1) DESCRIPTION

II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The State
Trading Centre (Rikiskaup), which is the Centre for governmental purchase
of goods and services in Iceland, invites on behalf of the Blood Bank at
Landspítali – University Hospital (LSH) for Automated and manual blood
grouping system using the microcolumn technique as further specified in
the tender specifications. The tender specifications concern a 4 years
framework contract for "on demand" supply of reagents for the automated
and manual blood grouping system for the Blood Bank Landspítali –
University Hospital, located at Snorrabraut 60 in Reykjavik and The Blood
Bank at FSA Akureyri, with the option for a two times 1-year extension.
The purpose of the information provided in this invitation and the tender
specifications regarding the system and equipment tendered, is to give
prospective tenders a clear and informative idea on what the Purchaser is
requesting and thus increase the likelihood for a valid tender and a
successful framework contract for both Purchaser and supplier. A contract
on delivery of the automated and manual blood grouping system, based on
this tender, is foreseen in the winter of 2008. The Purchaser is searching
for the most economically advantageous solution in this tender. See

II.2) QUANTITY OR SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT
II.2.1) Total quantity or scope: Automated blood grouping system based on
the micro column technique, consisting of fully automated blood grouping
machines, capable of: ABO forward and reverse blood grouping, Rh D blood
grouping, phenotyping and screening of blood group antibodies. Reagents
used on the machines, consumables, software and hardware for controls and
registration of samples, interpretation of results and transfer of results
to Prosang (the Blood Banks computer system). Manual systems for ABO
forward and reverse blood grouping, Rh D blood grouping, phenotyping,
screening and identification of blood group antibodies. The manual system
SHALL include a reader that can interpret the results and transfer them to
Prosang (The Blood Banks computer system. The tendered prices shall be
total prices in Icelandic krónur (ISK) ex VAT for the system tendered
installed and accepted fully operational and ready for clinical use
including installation, training, consumables, and all other cost for
running the equipment for the next four (4) years at Landspítali –
University Hospital. With and without service contract. See further
