The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Medical Center Carswell, Fort Worth, Texas, intends to issue solicitation RFQ 50507-012-08 to make a single award to an eligible community or junior college, or four-year college for the provision of a certified National Federation of Professional Trainers instructor. The contractor will provide a National Personal Fitness Trainer program to the inmates of FMC Carswell, Fort Worth, Texas not to exceed ten hours per week. The class must be accredited by the Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. The contractor will be required to provide vocational instruction in Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Client Goals and Exercise Programs, Understanding Wellness, and Professional and Legal Practices. At the end of the instructional period, students should be prepared to take and pass the certification exam offered by the National Federation of Professional Trainers. The contractor will be required to maintain class attendance, students� progress in class and monthly performance evaluations. It is anticipated that there will be a total of ninety-six (96), two (2.0) hour sessions during the period of a contract year. Live work of benefit to the institution will comprise 20%-40% of the available class time and will include assisting the students in presenting an �Inmate Health Fair� at the end of each semester class. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 611310 (Size Standard: $6.5 million). The contract type is indefinite delivery/requirements contract with firm-fixed unit prices. The contract period will consist of one (1) twelve month base year and two (2) twelve month option periods for renewal. The solicitation will be available on or about June 6, 2008 and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration�s Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. All qualified sources are encouraged to submit an offer which will be considered for award. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit offers/bids equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible.
