of Tanzania and Denmark have agreed to implement the Business Environment
Strengthening for Tanzania (BEST) Programme. BEST is a cross-cutting,
multi donor funded programme created to reduce the burden of regulatory
and administrative constraints on the private sector and to improve
service from Government to the private sector. It has 10 components
located within Government, and one advocacy component located outside of
government. The Advocacy Component (BEST - AC) addresses the need to
enhance the quality and credibility of private sector organisations to
engage effectively in private public dialogue and to advocate improvements
in the business environment in Tanzania. This is a second phase of the
component which was launched in November 2003. The Consultant will be
responsible for undertaking outreach and capacity building for effective
advocacy and managing the Business Advocacy Fund.
