REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)

ANDHRA PRADESH WATER SECTOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FOR MODERNISATION OF NAGARJUNASAGAR PROJECT

BASE LINE SURVEY CONSULTANCY

1. This Request for Expression of Interest follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business; issue no 719 of 31 January, 2008.

2. The Irrigation & C.A.D. Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh has applied for a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for engaging Base Line Survey Consultancy under Andhra Pradesh Water Sector Improvement Project (APWSIP) for Modernization of Nagarjunasagar Project.

3. The Services include:

a) Collection of information that will help in project planning as well as to provide a basis for monitoring & evaluating the project.

b) Four components (i) a household survey, (ii) a WUA and village level survey, (iii) a scheme level survey and (iv) Irrigation Department survey.

4. The Consultancy shall be completed within 9 months of signing the consulting contract.

5. The Project Director, Project Preparation & Monitoring Unit, APWSIP now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the Services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

6. A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by Bank Borrower, May 2004 Revised October 2006.

7. Interested Consultants may obtain further information at address given below from 10.30 AM to 5.00 PM.

8. Expression of interest must be delivered to address below by no later than 5.00 PM to 20th June, 2008.
