1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue No. 631 of 7th of November 2006.
2. The Islamic Republic of Iran has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development/International Development Association toward the cost of Ahwaz & Shiraz Water Supply & Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the Contract for Procurement of Water Meter (ICB No: AS 30)
3. The Ahwaz Water & Wastewater Company now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for:
- Procurement of 30,000 Water Meters
The delivery period is at last 180 days following the date of contract effectiveness.
4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004 and are open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Technical Support Unit of The Ahwaz Water & Wastewater Company and inspect the required information at the address given below:

6. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee Iranian Rials 2,000,000 (Two million Iranian Rials) or Euro 200 (Two hundred Euro). The method of payment will be deposited in account No.3101-810-8585850-1 with Bank Passargad , Kiyanpars Branch in Ahwaz, Branch Code:3101, Swift Code: BKBPIRTH. The bidding documents will be sent by mail (DHL), and e-mail, or hand delivered to officially introduced representatives of interested firms, against proof of payment (Deposit slip).
7. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 9:00 a.m dated 20th of July 2008. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at 10:00 a.m dated 20th of July 2008. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of 25,000 USD, equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency or Iranian Rials.
