II.1.4) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): A LINk is to be
setup by Leicester City Council on behalf of local partners such as the
Primary Care Trust, practice-based commissioning groups, Local strategic
Partnership members, etc, to give people the opportunity to say what they
think about their local services with a focus on social care and health.
LINks will have powers to inspect and recommend changes and report to the
Council's overview and scrutiny committee. In return the committee will
provide feedback to the LINk on its findings. Further information is
available from the Department of Health website
(www.dh.gov.uk/patientpublicinvolvement) in particular 'Getting ready for
LINks' guidance. To support the LINk the Council has a statutory duty to
make contractual arrangements with a host organisation. Interested
organisations are invited to apply, in writing, to request a
pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) from the contact shown at Section
I.1. Organisations who are successful at this first stage will be invited
