This is a Sources Sought synopsis. The U. S. Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit Providence is conducting market research in support of the potential acquisition of a concrete floating dock system for its Northeast Region stations. The floating dock system should have the capability of being moored in a minimum water depth of four feet. Maximum freeboard under dead load alone is 24 inches. Freeboard of zero inches must be maintained under a minimum live load of 90 psf. The system should be able to withstand the stresses of a non-breaking wave with a height of three feet and a period from 1.25 seconds both with and without a moored vessel alongside. The system must be able to accommodate various sizes and shapes of vessels with the maximum vessel having a length of 110 feet, beam of 21 feet, and displacement of 165 long tons. The system must have the capability of accommodating electrical, sewage, and fuel shore ties, and pile or anchor mooring systems. The system must have been in satisfactory use for a minimum of three years in a saltwater environment and in cold weather climates.
