Contractor to provide all tools, materials, equipment and labor necessary for completion of general construction project no. 636A8-07-724ES, "Remove Boiler UST's." at the DVA Medical Center, Hwy 6 West, Iowa City, Iowa, in accordance with the drawings and specifications. Work will involve removal of 5 single wall boiler fuel underground storage tanks (three, 20,000 gallon UST's, and two, 25,000 gallon UST's) and one 500 gallon fire pump tank and associated piping that have exceeded life expectancy and are at significant risk of leaking. Project will remove tanks and replace with 2 double wall tanks with smaller total capacity which includes general construction, mechanical, plumbing work, and certain other items. Cost range is within $250,000 and $500,000. NAICS code 238910, size standard $13 million. This procurement is 100% set aside for SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED BUSINESS. Electronic solicitation documents to include Invitation for Bid, Contract Forms, specifications, and drawings will be made available in electronic format only through the VA's website at: https://www.fbo.gov. Solicitation material will also be provided to the following sources where hard copies may be reviewed or obtained for a fee: Construction Update Plan Room, 5850 6th St., SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404. It is recommended that you complete the solicitation mailing list on the website before downloading the solicitation. Any amendments issued to this solicitation and bidder's mailing list will only be available on the website. Contractors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all amendments. The solicitation will be available on about May 27, 2008. Bid opening date will be on about June 25, 2008, at 2:00 P.M., local time.
