1. The Ethiopian ICT Development Agency, Information and Communication Technology Assisted Development Project has received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Information and Communication Technology Assisted Development (ICTAD) Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the procurement of Laboratory Equipments (Testing and Measuring), Telecommunication Equipment Test Laboratory Equipments, LAN Equipments & Software and HF Radio Transceiver.

2. The Ethiopian ICT Development Agency, Information and Communication Assisted Development Project now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the Procurement of Laboratory Equipments (Testing and Measuring), Telecommunication Equipment Test Laboratory Equipments, LAN Equipments & Software and HF Radio Transceiver under the following four Lots. Bidders have the option to bid for one or more lots.
 Lot 1: Laboratory Equipments(Testing and Measuring)
 Lot 2: Telecommunication Equipment Testing Laboratory Equip.
 Lot 3: LAN Equipments & Software
 Lot 4: HF Radio Transceiver

3. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Ethiopian ICT Development Authority, Information and Communication Assisted Development (ICTAD) Project Tel 251-91-1229367, 251-91-1146650, Fax 251-011-5503974 E-Mail info@ictadethiopia.org, web site www.ictadethiopia.org, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below from 8:30 AM – 12:30 AM from Monday to Friday

5. Qualifications requirements include: At least two contracts completed successfully of similar nature and size within the past five years.

6. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee 350 Ethiopian Birr or the equivalent amount in a free convertible currency. The method of payment will be cash or Cashier’s Check. The Bidding Documents will be sent by Courier service.

7. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 2:00 P.M on July 15, 2008 Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.

8. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at Conference Hall of Ethiopian ICT Development Authority ICTAD Project, Dembel City Center 11th Floor, and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at 2:30 P.M July 15, 2008.

9. The amount of the Bid Security shall be: 32,000 for lot I, 3,300 for lot II, 3,000 for lot III, and 3000 for lot IV in Ethiopian Birr or the equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
