SECTION II: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
II.1) DESCRIPTION

No. 80/2008 - Group Life Assurance Scheme (Voluntary Scheme-Paid by
Employees).

Assurance Scheme for the benefit of EAC's permanent staff and their
dependants.

II.2) QUANTITY OR SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT
II.2.1) Total quantity or scope: The policy will provide cover against
Death from any Cause including war and suicide and Permanent Total
Disability as a result of illness only. The insured will be covered
anywhere in the world and benefits will be payable in the event of
Permanent Total Disability due to illness. The contracting party will be
the Electricity Authority of Cyprus acting for and on behalf of its
employees who for the purpose of the Policy will be the Members of the
Scheme. The Scheme will be open to all male and female permanent staff of
the Electricity Authority of Cyprus between the ages of 18 and under 63,
to pensioners up to the age of 68 or any other age that might be
implemented by law or regulation and their families provided always that
retiring employees had been members of the Scheme at the time of their
retirement and continue uninterrupted to be members of the Scheme after
their retirement. Employee Members may be married, engaged or single and
may effect coverage for themselves and their spouses. Entry will be purely
on a voluntary basis and members may join at any time of the year but can
withdraw on each anniversary date or earlier on the Insurers discretion.
The existing Members automatically become Members of the new Scheme. The
successful tenderer will accept all the existing Members, arrangements and
records of the Scheme now in effect.
Estimated value excluding VAT: 766 000 EUR.

II.3) DURATION OF THE CONTRACT OR TIME LIMIT FOR COMPLETION: Duration in
months: 36 (from the award of the contract).
SECTION III: LEGAL, ECONOMIC, FINANCIAL AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION
III.1) CONDITIONS RELATING TO THE CONTRACT
III.1.2) Main financing conditions and payment arrangements and/or
reference to the relevant provisions regulating them: Payment will be made
by the Authority on a monthly basis based on the premiums collected from
the employees insured.
III.2) CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION
III.2.1) Personal situation of economic operators, including requirements
relating to enrolment on professional or trade registers: Information and
formalities necessary for evaluating if requirements are met: Tenders may
be submitted by those who are eligible to provide Insurance Services in
accordance with the provisions of Cyprus Law on Insurance Services and
Other Related Issues, L35(I)2002-2004 and those who are engaged in the
Insurance and Reinsurance Market as Intermediaries. Hence, Tenderers must
submit written evidence that they are duly licensed under the “provision
of Law 35(I)2002-2004”.
