PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE DOCUMENT AUTOMATION & PRODUCTION SERVICE MOST EFFICIENT ORGANIZATION DESIGNATION AS A DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE HIGH PERFORMING ORGANIZATION (HPO) The Department of Defense (DoD) has approved the designation of High Performing Organization (HPO) for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Document Automation & Production Service (DAPS) for delivery of high-speed duplicating, reprographic and related document services to the DoD, its military services and other Federal Agencies as defined by DoD Instruction 5330.03. The locations of performance include military service installations in the Continental United States where requirements for such services are fulfilled by DAPS operations. This notice represents the formal public announcement of the designation of High Performing Organization for performance of high-speed duplicating, reprographic and related document services at defense and military installations in the Continental United States. The requirements for these services are fulfilled by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Document Automation & Production Service (DAPS) through production and service facilities operated by the DAPS Most Efficient Organization. These activities are currently performed by 640 DoD government civilian personnel positions. Designation of the DAPS MEO as an HPO is effective October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2012. The Department of Defense Competitive Sourcing Official, Mr. Wayne Arny, Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Installations and Environment), has designated this function performed by DAPS as an HPO. The DoD Component Competitive Sourcing Official for the Defense Logistics Agency is LTG Robert Dail.
