The tenderer, who has down loaded the Tender Document from Web site then the Bank Draft towards the cost of Tender Document ( application fee ) and the undertaking mentioned in Sl. No. 4 shall be submitted in a separate envelope marked “cost of Tender
Document & the undertaking” and not with Part-I / Part-II/EMD

The work involves deployment and operation of Surface Miner(s), Pay Loaders and allied machineries like Water Tanker(s), Diesel Bouser(s) etc., for mechanical excavation and transfer of coal and coal measure strata at Basundhara ( West ) OCP, MCL. The tenderer should have capacity to start the work within 45 days of issue of LOI and to build up the required level of daily/monthly production quantity
i) The work involves extraction/breaking of coal/coal measure strata in slices/layers without resorting to drilling and blasting and then transfer of the broken materials into
tipping trucks/dumpers, provided by the Project Management. The thickness and length of the slices/layers will be decided by the Management, depending upon the working conditions at site. However, the broken material should not be greater than ( – ) 100 mm size
The Management however, reserves the right to transfer/ shift the quantity to other projects or re-distribute the same within the project of MCL and it shall be the responsibility of the contractor to comply with such change/re-distribution by deploying adequate number of equipments
Earnest Money Deposit ( 1% of the annualized estimated cost rounded of to nearest hundred
rupees subject to maximum of Rs.50.00 Lakh ) as Earnest Money/Bid security is to be deposited in the form of irrevocable Bank Guarantee ( from Scheduled Bank/Branch acceptable to the owner) with validity 28 days beyond the validity of the bid in the format given in the bid document. Certified cheques and Demand Drafts will also be acceptable as EMD/Bid Security drawn in favour of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, on any Scheduled Bank payable at its branch at Sambalpur. Earnest Money/Bid Security of the unsuccessful bidder shall be refundable as promptly as possible after opening of Price Bid and finalisation of the tender and shall bear no interest

Bhubaneswar-751017 or from Office of the General Manager (S&M), MCL, Apeejay House, 3rd Floor, 15-Park Street, Kolkata-700016 during office hours from 10.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. and 2.00 P.M. to 5.00 P.M. and on Saturdays from 10.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M only at MCL HQ, Burla, Sambalpur and MCL, Bhubaneswar by Cash or an A/c Payee Demand Draft in favour of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited payable at Sambalpur or Kolkata or Bhubaneswar, as the case may be depending upon the place of purchase of Tender Documents from 07. 05. 2008 to 21. 05. 2008 (MCL Kolkata Office remains closed on Saturdays & Sundays).

In Part-I envelope, the bidder must submit an affidavit in the prescribed proforma ( available in the bid document ), on a non-judicial stamp paper valuing required amount as appropriate, duly sworn in before a Magistrate/ Notary Public to the effect that all the supporting documents submitted with the tender are genuine and correct. If it is found at any point of time that the said documents were not genuine then in that event the tender will be rejected or the contract will be terminated, earnest money will be forfeited and the tenderer may be debarred from participating in any further tender of this Company.
