SECTION II: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
II.1) DESCRIPTION

II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Hartlepool
Borough Council are seeking submissions from suitably qualified
organisations who can demonstrate experience and skills in community
development, local networking, facilitation and working with individuals
from all sectors of the community and a wide range of provider groups to
become the 'Host' of the LINK for Hartlepool Borough Council. The 'Host'
will be responsible for the establishment, diversity of membership, and
supporting the on-going day-to-day activities of the LINK to carry out the
following activities:
— Promoting and supporting the involvement of people in the commissioning,
provision and scrutiny of local health and Social Care Services,
— Obtaining the views of people about their needs for, and experiences of
Local Health and Social Care Services,
— Enabling people to monitor to review the commissioning and provision of
care services and,
— Making their views known to the people responsible for commissioning,
providing, managing and scrutinising those services.

will expire 31.3.2011. The Council reserve the right to extend the
contract for an additional 2 x 12 month periods, subject to satisfactory
performance of the contractor and availability of funding.
Estimated value excluding VAT: 240 000 GBP.

Description of these options: An option to extend this contract for a
further 2 x 12 month periods dependent on performance and further funding.
